A Whole Two Years Of Blogging

Today is my blogs 2nd birthday, wow how time flies! Writing this blog has opened up all kinds of opportunities for me and I have learnt so much along the way.

I thought I would have a little look back over the last two years and share some of my best, and worst, bits with you…

In The Beginning…

The first couple of post I wrote are quite laughable really, I had no clue what I was doing so I just seemed to spout out random posts like this one Is modern society restricting our natural instincts to be a good mother?

The First Linky…

The first linky that I ever joined in with was Tara’s one called The Photo Gallery over on her blog Sticky Fingers. Here’s the picture that I submitted…

Sibling Love

The Mother & Toddler Group Stage…

There was a period where a lot of my post were based around the dreaded mother & toddler groups. As we had just moved down to Devon from Kent I felt like I had to go to as many as possible to try and make some new friends. One post, in particular, seemed to be quite relatable to other mothers The Delicate Politics of Mother & Baby Groups.

The First Meme…

The first meme that I got tagged in was by Rachel from Three Years & Home (originally called Three Years One Stone Then Home). It was called Mothers deserve more than one day.

The First Award…

The first award I got for my blog was The Versatile Blogger Award given to me by Suzanne at 3 Children and It.  Thanks, Suzanne.

 The First Ever Review…

The first product that we got asked to review on the blog was a yummy box of treats from Organix which got a big thumbs up all round from my lot.

The First Blogging Event…

The first event I ever got invited to attend was at the Rainforest Cafe in London for the new Lol drink by Heinz. Read my LOL Review.

 The Birthday Party Posts…

The first birthday party I wrote about was my sons Thrifty Pirate Party. This was the first post I wrote that was really popular on Pinterest, I still get re-pins from this one now.

The second party post I wrote about was for my daughters Enchanted Forest Party

The First Time It All Went Horribly Wrong…

There was one particular moment in my short blogging adventure, involving someone quite famous, that quite frankly, scared the hell out of me and nearly caused me to give the whole thing up completely.

The Thrifty Decorating Posts…

The first thrifty decorating post I wrote was about our sons Thrifty Pirate Bedroom, the one with the boat bed that my other half made for our son.

The second thrifty decorating post I wrote was this one Thrifty Home Decorating – Girls Bedroom.

The Period When I Stopped Using Shampoo…

On January the 18th 2013 I decided to stop washing my hair with shampoo. It was an interesting journey that you can read all about here – 7 Months & No-Shampoo

The Birth of Thrifty Thursday…

The first ever Thrifty Thursday was on August the 8th 2013. It’s a weekly linky that I really enjoy working on every week.

The Birth Of Pinterest Passion…

As I am a bit of a Pinterest addict  I decided to start another linky called Pinterest Passion which is a monthly linky.

So there you have it, the highlights of my two years of blogging experience. I have really enjoyed it so far and hope to continue it for a long time to come.

I just want to say thank you to everyone that has read, commented or joined in with Gypsy Soul. You are all amazing!

As a mini celebration of my blogs 2nd birthday, I thought it would be lovely if you guys could share with me your most favourite post of all time. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it can just be a post that you really enjoyed writing or you thought you wrote particularly well. Whatever it is and whatever it’s about I’d love to see it.
