Yesterday I recieved an email notifying me that I have been nominated in this year’s mumandworking awards for working parent blogger of the year!
‘Since February our visitors and subscribers to mumandworking have been nominating in their hundreds and now it’s decision time!’
Last year something pretty amazing happened to me; I was not only a finalist in the Best Thrifty Blog category of the Mad Blog Awards 2015 but I also won it. At the time I was in a complete state of shock as I generally didn’t believe for one second that I would win. I was just so proud to be a finalist; to then go on and win it was just unreal. Still to this day every now and then I have to go and look at my award just to check that it did actually happen and wasn’t some weird blogging dream. You may have noticed that my blog has suddenly changed. It’s been a long time coming really and I’m so happy that I’ve finally taken the plunge and gone for it. The main reason for the change was to regain a bit of focus on my blog. When I first started blogging 5 years ago I had two young children both of whom were still in nappies. That and I was fed up with getting emails asking if we’d like to review nappies even though my youngest is now 5! Continue reading “Why I Rebranded my Blog?”

When I first started blogging I would spend hours writing a blog post, editing images and just generally making sure that everything looked okay. I’d then hit publish and just sit back and wait for people to read it. It didn’t take me long to realise this was not the way forward. I just wasn’t reaching enough people. It’s 2016 already, where does the time go? It’s that time of year when we all start reassessing our lives and how we might improve them in the coming year. When I tell people that I work from home the next question inevitable is
‘How do you make money working at home?’
I always dread that question because it’s never a straight forward answer. I have Continue reading “An Easy Way To Make Money On Your Blog”
I’m not really sure where to begin with this one? I still don’t think it has quite sunk in.
When Becky from Baby Budgeting tweeted me to congratulate me on being a finalist in the Best Thrifty Blog category I was in shock for about a week. I was convinced it was an error and that I’d get an email come through saying sorry we made a mistake!
Just being a finalist had made my year but then to actually Continue reading “My Thoughts On Winning A Mad Blog Award”
I have been a blogger for nearly 4 years now and over that period of time I have had my fair share of emails from PR companies. On average I receive between 15 and 20 email pitches per day. Some great, some okay and some just plain weird! Seriously you would be amazed at some of the pitches I have received.
