We all know that December is an expensive time of year, there just always seems to be some much that needs to be bought. For families you can add visiting Santa to that list, luckily there are loads of places in Devon to see the big man but the prices do vary quite substantially from place to place. Last year we were lucky enough to be invited along to the fireworks event at Devon’s Crealy. It was by far the best fireworks display I have ever seen! So you can imagine how happy we were when we got invited back again this year. Continue reading “Fireworks Event 2016 at Devons Crealy”
Last weekend we were invited along to an event run by A Touch of the Wild. They are a forest school company in Devon. Both of our kiddies used to go to forest school twice a week before they started school, I think they both miss it. They always used to come home covered head to toe in mud proudly clutching their latest woodland inspired artwork. Continue reading “A Touch of the Wild”
As it’s half term this week we have been filling our days with Autumnal activities including pumpkin picking, long walks and spooky halloween trails. On one of the days we made our way up to Lifton to pick our own pumpkins and as we were up that way we decided to visit Lydford Gorge.
I like to make the most of Autumn as it always seems to fly by so fast. This year I was on a mission to find a pumpkin patch in Devon to partake in some pumpkin picking. Being a big farming area you’d think this would be an easy task, it wasn’t. After hours of Google searching I still couldn’t find anywhere and had started to give up hope until someone suggested Lifton Farm Shop. Continue reading “Pumpkin Picking in Devon”
Last week I was invited along to a ‘not a wedding’ yurt event taking place in a secret walled garden in Devon. Anyone that knows me will know that this sort of event is right up my street. I would live in a yurt if I could convince the other half that it was a good idea. So far he’s not convinced, not even a tiny bit but I’m hoping to wear him down eventually. Of all the places I have lived Devon is definitely my favourite so far, there is so much to see and do and a lot of it is free! The kiddies and I love having our adventures whether it be up on the moors or down on the coast. I thought today I would share with you some of my favourite photos that we have taken over the years. Continue reading “Things to see in Devon”
Since we got the puppy one of the issues we have had is finding places to go that are both child and dog friendly. After a bit of research I was surprised to find that there are actually a lot of places in Devon that welcome dogs and children. Today I thought I would share my findings with you. A few weekends ago we were invited along to the Moorland Garden Hotel located on the edge of Dartmoor.
After having a quick look on their website and discovering it was a four star hotel located in a secluded spot on Dartmoor with its own helipad I had high expectations.
‘Nestling in nine acres of picturesque and tranquil moorland garden.’
