Last weekend we were invited to take part in the Devon Santa Search with Devon’s Top Attractions. We were tasked with visiting certain Devon attractions to find Santa and then record our experiences on social media.
This weekend we were invited to have breakfast with Father Christmas at our local Wyevale Garden Centre called Jack’s Patch in Teignmouth. Last year we went to the Santa’s Grotto at the other Wyevale Garden Centre in Devon and had a lovely time so we were keen to see what the Jack’s Patch experience was like.
Now that it’s December and we have got all of the Autumn birthday celebrations out of the way I can finally start to concentrate on Christmas preparations. This year we have a full house again with 14 guests! I have been desperately trying to get our house into some sort of order before the big day, it’s taking much longer than I anticipated. I’ve been selling off anything that we no longer want or use to make a bit of extra cash and make some extra room.
This Christmas I didn’t want to do my usual last minute panic bulk buying present shopping; I wanted to find gifts that I thought our friends and family would really appreciate and had a more personal touch. This is where Snapfish comes in. They have a great website where you can create personalised stocking stuffers which are perfect for a unique yet personal Christmas gift.
‘Snapfish provides online digital photo printing services where you can order photo prints and photo gifts. Print pictures, create photo cards, photo books and more’.
Stuck for ideas of what to get your kids for Christmas this year? Want to get them something a bit different? Have you thought about a monthly magazine subscription?
Recently I had an email pop up in my inbox titled ‘Christmas Tree World – I Know Bear With Me It’s A Good One’. Now in January that is not the sort of email you expect to see so naturally I was intrigued.
The email was directing me to a site called Christmas Tree World. How is this relevant in January? Well in January they have a huge discount sale and lots of their artificial trees are half price. I’m always one for a bargain and as our old Christmas tree was starting to look a little worse for wear after being attacked my mice in the shed, I was happy to take a look at what they had on offer. I have another thrifty Christmas trick for you today… Homemade thrifty Christmas name tags.
To make these I used last years Christmas cards that I saved from last year and cut up all of the good bits. You then just re-arrange them to make a unique gift tag.
These are really easy to make and don’t cost a penny. So this year remember to keep your cards for next year.
Thrifty Thursday is a place to share your thrifty posts. It doesn’t matter if they are old or new and can be about anything to do with saving money and being thrifty. Whether it be a post on cutting back on your food shop or your latest thrifty find link it up, I’d love to see it.
I have also started a Thrifty Thursday board on Pinterest and I will be pinning any entries onto it each week so more people get to see your great posts.
