I first knew I was pregnant at just two weeks! I remember the moment as if it was yesterday. It was nearly 8 years ago now and I was working for Cancer Research UK in one of their Tunbridge Wells stores. I was busy sorting through the donations when I suddenly thought ‘Oh my god I’m pregnant’. I have no idea what lead me to think that as I wasn’t ‘late’, I didn’t feel sick, infact I’d not had a single sign or symptom of pregnancy. For some reason I just knew I was. I dropped the bags I was sorting and headed straight to the local pharmacy to buy a test. Continue reading “How I Announced my #GEORGEousBump When We Were Expecting”
Humans have this bizarre need to label everything; I’m not one for labels in any sense of the word whether it be clothing, social standing or my personal beliefs, however if I had to put a ‘label’ on our personal parenting style I would call it ‘Organic Parenting’. Continue reading “Organic Parenting: What is it and how to do it?”
Our daughter is most certainly a free soul, at the ripe old age of 5 she certainly knows her own mind and isn’t afraid to tell you. She finds joy in everything she does whether it be helping me with the washing or digging big holes in my garden. She is constantly singing to herself and likes to create beautiful things. I have a nephew that is obsessed with football, given half the chance he would spend his entire day kicking a ball around and practising his techniques. He is never happier than when he has a ball at his feet. This is why when I was made aware of the competition that Barclays are currently running I knew it would be right up his street and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that knows a football mad youngster. Our daughter, Lowenna, is one of the most contrary people I have ever come across. If I ask her to go upstairs and put some trousers on she will come back down in a skirt. If I ask her to get me her hairbrush she will come back with her toothbrush.
Unlike her older brother who’s sole aim is to please, she relishes in the fact that she is being awkward and the more awkward she can be the better. I’d like to say it’s a phase and she’ll grow out of it but she has been this way since she was a baby.

I saw something this Friday at our local amusement park that has been playing on my mind ever since. It was a classic case of judging before you had the whole story.
Here is what I saw from the sidelines…
A Mother and her toddler twins were trying to get onto the teacups ride, one twin wanted to go on the ride the other didn’t! One started screaming and shouting and refusing to get into the cup, the other happily sat, already strapped in, waiting for the ride to begin. The Mother then took the screaming child off the ride and placed him by the fence where he continued to scream and then proceeded to try and get back onto the ride. At this point the Mother had Continue reading “Open Letter to the Dad who Shouted at the Deaf Mother”
In less you have been living under a rock the last few years I’m sure you would of heard of the latest Christmas craze known as Elf on the Shelf. In case you aren’t familiar with it let me explain… the idea behind this creepy little critter is that he comes to your home on the 1st of December to cause havoc and mayhem whilst also stalking your children right up until Christmas. Continue reading “5 Reasons Why Elf on the Shelf can go to Hell”
This Christmas I have been consciously trying to buy gifts for people that I feel have a bit more meaning and also offer the recipient a new experience rather than just more stuff. Almost all of the gifts we have bought this year have been through Groupon. Yes I have officially become a groupon addict! Continue reading “Bargain Christmas Gifts”
Last weekend we took part in the Devon Santa Search. The first place we visited was Dartington Crystal Visitors Centre and the second place was Clovelly Village.
I have never been to Clovelly before but it has been on my ‘to visit list’ for a while now so I was really excited to finally be going there.
Clovelly is a village set on the side of a hill on the North Devon coast, sounds like a lot of other villages in Devon however Clovelly is a little different. What is really unique about the village is that the whole place is a tourist attraction and you have to pay to enter.
I love decorating for Christmas. In our living room I always go for a gold theme, I love a bit of gold. You can blame that on my Jewish roots. Today I thought I’d share with you some pictures of our living room Christmas decorations.
