Dobble Kids & Disney Pictopia Games Review & Giveaway

We were recently given some new board games to try out which was perfect timing for the half term. We took the smaller of the two games away with us on the boat as I thought it would be a great boredom buster which is pretty important when you are trapped in a confined space with two young ones.

Dobble Kids

Dobble Kids GameThe game is called Dobble Kids and is perfect for taking with you if you are travelling. The whole game is in one tin and doesn’t have lots of little pieces to get lost, hence perfect for travelling or holidays.

A game of quick reflexes for all – 2 to 5 players – Aged 4 and up

Each card has 6 different animals on it and the object of the game is to match an animal from your card with the other card. The first person to match an animal wins that round.

The pack comes with instructions for 5 mini games all with the same idea but played in slightly different ways. They also vary in level of difficulty.

Here’s my two enjoying the game…

Things I liked about the Dobble kids game…

  • Portable
  • Easy to set up
  • Easy to play
  • The kiddies could play it on their own as well as with an adult
  • Focuses their attention on one thing
  • Easy to store

Disney Pictopia

Disney Pictopia The second game that we tested was Disney Pictopia.

The Ultimate Picture Trivia Family Game

Families team up in this uniquely collaborative yet competitive trivia game with 1,000 questions covering the World of Disney!

During the game, everyone gets a chance to show off their knowledge – from Disney Jr. and Disney XD to the Disney Parks and classic films.

This game is a lot more involved than the Dobble Kids one. It has a board, tokens, counters, dials and cards.

The object of the game is to answer the questions correctly to advance your mover. Get to the castle space to win!

I found this game a lot more complicated than the last one but once you get the hang of what you are doing it’s great fun. On reflection I think my two were too young for this game. It does state for 7+ years but as it was Disney I thought it would be okay. Mine are 6 and 4. Each player has to be able to read otherwise it doesn’t really work and my youngest can’t yet so she struggled a bit but once she has learnt  to read I’m sure she will enjoy it a lot more.

Things I liked about Disney Pictopia…

  • It’s Disney!  I love anything Disney.
  • It’s a great ‘all rounder’ game suitable for kids and adults.
  • It will be a perfect game to play at Christmas when all of the family are down.

I think the younger two would like the Disney one best as they are massive fans, big man probably the Dobble

  2. Tell me which game you think your child would prefer and why? . . . . . . . . l think they would prefer Dobble as it looks so much fun

  3. I think my boys would like the Dobble game and it would be ideal as we are away a lot so would be a gd sized travel game 🙂

  4. My kids would love Dobble as its something the younger ones could pick up easy enough to play with their older siblings

  5. They both look great but think my littlies would like dobble they love fast paced games and me and their dad could play along to or they could play on their own. Looks like a lot of fun!

  6. My children would love Disney Pictopia. They love Disney characters and are quite competitive so the game would give them lots of fun 🙂

  7. My children (and me) are Disney obsessed so we’d definitely choose the Disney Pictopia game. My eldest likes the more complicated games too so this would be good for her 🙂

I'd love to know what you think...
