Last Saturday evening I was invited to the Holi One Colour Festival in Plymouth and we had an amazing time! I’d never been to a colour festival before so I wasn’t really sure what to expect, well other than getting covered in paint!
I’d already spent all day at Somersault festival in North Devon so it was quite a rush to get down to Plymouth and the party vibe was in full swing by the time we got there.
We went prepared, all dressed in white and ready to get colourful.
When we arrived we felt a little out of place as we were the only sober clean people there but luckily there was a passer by that was happy to share some of their paint with us.
No longer feeling so conspicuous we decided to hit the bar and attack a cocktail or 10!
We spent most of our time there sitting on the grass chatting about life and supping on our, rather strong, cocktails.
When they did the paint countdowns every hour it was amazing and I managed to get some great pictures…
By the end of the evening we were covered from head to toe in paint.
It really was a great night and a fantastic experience even if it did take me 3 days to get over my hangover, did I mention how strong the cocktails were!!!
There are lots of Holi One festivals happening all over the UK check out their website to find out if there is one near to you.
I’ve seen one near me being advertised, it looks so much fun. What’s the entertainment like? And more importantly, how much are the cocktails?!

The music was good, we got there a bit late so it was a dj when we were there. The cocktails were a fiver each!!
