Now that Summer finally seems to have arrived in England it’s the perfect time to think about updating your living room with a fresh new style. When seasons change, it’s usually the time when we realize that we want to do some redecorations, whether it’s in our kitchen, living room or bathroom, there are many things we can do to add life to our surroundings.
With cheap custom made neon signs, you can quickly redecorate your rooms, without spending too much and without rearranging your furniture. This kind of approach gives you the best of both worlds since you can redecorate on a budget and save more energy this way instead of deciding which new pieces of furniture fit, and which don’t.
Today I thought I would highlight some of the popular trends this year.
The aim of the game this year seems to be a combination of keeping it light and airy, no doubt sparked by the rise in interest in minimalism this year, think neutral coloured walls and then adding in your colour with you home accessories. Geometric designs are very popular, as are succulents and when combined together you will be bang on trend. Check out the geometric hanging planters below. I want one!
We still seem to be holding onto the industrial look with the grey colours that have been very popular; to liven this up for the Summer simply add a bit of yellow and perhaps an even brighter colour such as a rich purple. As you can tell from my blog I’m a big fan of the grey/yellow colour combination. I think I’m a little bit in love with this sofa from Fishpools.
Geometric design seems to be everywhere at the moment and I don’t know about you but I find it really appealing to the eye.
Bring the outside in with a few little succulents dotted around your living room. Not only do they look great but they are also super low maintenance so ideal for people like me who never remember to water their plants.
I have well and truly jumped onto the succulent bandwagon. Mine are displayed in simple silver pots on the windowsill in the kitchen, which I think compliments our industrial style decor nicely.
It wouldn’t feel like Summer without all of the lovely bright coloured flowers that are starting to appear outside. Why not bring some of that colour inside with some stylish floral cushions?
