Last October I turned 30, to celebrate the occasion we had a big party at the Chelston Manor which is a fantastically quirky pub in Torquay. We organised a 1920’s Gatsby birthday party.
I always enjoy spending time organising parties. I like choosing a theme and researching ideas to recreate. For my 30th this year I knew exactly what theme I wanted, 1920’s Gatsby style. I knew how I wanted to decorate it, with black and gold being the main colours but I was unsure on how to make it just that bit more special, as it’s a ‘big’ birthday. Last week for my upcoming Gatsby party I was focusing on getting my invites ready. This week I’m focusing on the fun part, decorating! I’ve gone with a Gatsby theme. Think lots of gold and black.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with a company called Party Packs to make this happen.
For my 30th birthday I am having a Gatsby themed party. I have already started planning for the event as a lot of our family live in the South East so they need to book hotel rooms and so on for when they come down.
I have been busy this week sorting out the invitations. Continue reading “Gatsby Party Invites”
In October I will be turning 30! Still not quite sure how I feel about that but I suppose I have a while to get used to the idea. To celebrate my transition into my 30’s we are hosting a 1920’s Gatsby themed party. Continue reading “1920’s Gatsby Party Decorating Ideas”
The day finally arrived! After much planning and organising we had Lowenna’s frozen party on Saturday. It went really well and I think everyone had a great time.
I thought I would share some pictures from the day with you.
Frozen Party Decorations
For the party I decided to buy a party tent that we could attach to the back of the house so we could make a party room. It might sound a bit extreme to buy an entire party tent but we have a lot of parties so I’m sure it will be well used.
I had great fun decorating it all with a winter wonderland/frozen theme.
Frozen Party Food
Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and we managed to squeeze everyone around our kitchen table.
Frozen Party Cake
My very talented niece made the cake for us.
Princess Dress-Up Station
I created a princess dress up corner for anyone that wanted to become a princess. This was very well received and we ended up with little princesses everywhere.
and we even had a guest appearance from Olaf, AKA Lowenna’s Uncle.
Frozen Party Bags
For the party bags I bought blue material favour bags. In the girls bags I put a frozen bracelet and ring and in the boys I put an Olaf keyring and a blue trumpet. I then topped it up with sweets, birthday cake and a cake pop.
I’m pretty sure that Lowenna had a wonderful day.
If you follow me on Instagram then you will already know that we are having a frozen party at the end of the week for our daughters 4th birthday. Continue reading “Thrifty Thursday – Thrifty Frozen Party Decorations”
Our son recently turned 5 and for his birthday we had a Superhero Party at our local leisure centre. Today I thought I’d share the decorations we used, the food and the party games we played. Continue reading “How to Host a Superhero Party”
