We have recently taken part in the Walton’s Playhouse Make It Your Own Challenge along with 4 other parent bloggers.
The Challenge
We were tasked with constructing and decorating our new playhouses but we had to get our thrifty heads on. The idea was to try and use recycling and up-cycling of items around the house. We were allowed to spend up to £50.
Construction
The playhouse was very easy to put up and had nice clear instructions with it.
Decorating
The next challenge was to decorate our new playhouse project. As we have a boy and a girl we had to go for a colour that they would be like so we opted for a baby blue.
In total we spent £35.50 all together, £30 on the paint & £5.50 on the flowers the rest of the bits we already had around the house. I was hoping to get my hands on some left over second hand paint but it wasn’t meant to be so we had to buy new. We did have quite a bit of paint left over though so we can always use that for another project.
We used up some scraps of material that I found in the garage to make some pretty bunting to go over the front just to finish it off.
We also used some old planters that we had lying around and gave them a lick of paint and attached them to the front.
The Finished Playhouse
The Voting
Now the playhouse projects are completed photos of the finished products are going to be uploaded to the Walton’s playhouse Facebook page where people will be able to vote for their favourite.
We have really enjoyed taking part in this challenge.
