Things to do with kids in the school holidays

I cannot believe that it is the half term school holidays already! It only seems like two minutes ago that it was Christmas.

I always find the February half term to be the worst of the lot in terms of entertaining the kiddies as the weather is never great and it’s usually freezing cold. Indoor places always cost a lot of money so we generally do one main, paid for, indoor activity in the week. We then try to fill the rest of the week with free days out such as adventure trails or sightseeing. We are all about the FREE things.

Free Fun in Devon

As we have only lived in Devon for 4 years there is still so much we haven’t seen so we have plenty of options of free places to visit. One of our firm favourites is Dartmoor where the kiddies can run riot and spot the wild ponies.

The Den in Teignmouth

Another place we enjoy visiting is The Den on Teignmouth sea front. There is a huge outdoor park that has different zones suitable for different ages. We also like to walk along the seafront and visit the pier.

Fishing with Kiddies

Fishing is another low cost activity that our two enjoy. You can buy kiddies fishing rods for a low price online or alternatively you can buy a crab line (which is cheaper).

Parents Half Term Survival Guide

A few of us parent bloggers have got together to give our best tips for surviving the school holidays in a  Parent’s Half Term Survival Guide. It’s great to find out how other parents keep their kiddies entertained.

I’d love to know your top tips for surviving the school holidays.
