Thrifty Thursday – Money Saving Apps

I’ll start off with an apology for the lack of Thrifty Thursday last week, real life got in the way!

Over the last few weeks I’ve been testing out some money saving apps like Checkout Smart and Click Snap. Through using Checkout Smart I managed to get all of this for free…

I’ve also been looking into couponing but I struggle to find the time to sort through and print them off. I’m looking into developing a better system to make it easier. If anyone else does extreme couponing and has any tips I’d love to hear them.

Here are some of my favourites from the last Thrifty Thursday link up…

  1. Great deals! We have digital coupons here for many stores and that saves time of printing and clipping. You just go to their site and clip their coupons to your shopper’s card. I hope they have this in your area too.

    1. Hi Vickie, I like the sound of that! Not sure if we have that here but I’m going to investigate and see. That would make it so much more easier to do couponing. Thanks for the tip 🙂

  2. I’ve posted about my weightloss journey (where I’m exercising 5 days a week not using a gym once) and my week of eating vegetarian food which was a real experience and helpful for my wallet.

My top tip though I didn’t blog about. I had a house and contents renewal through. it was £15 higher than last year when I’d not made a claim. I called up and not changing a single thing on the policy, just by asking nicely, I reduced my premium by £20, making it cheaper than the previous year. It pays to ask.

    1. That’s a great result Heidi, if you don’t ask you don’t get 🙂 Thank you for joining in with #ThriftyThursday this week

  3. Thank you for the mention 🙂 I used to coupon a lot, but at the moment, I find I don’t have the time. I bought a small plastic wallet and then organised mine into categories and paperclipped the similar ones together. It did help, but I’m sure there are better ways of doing it! x

    1. My pleasure, thank you for joining in. I’m finding time to be the main issue with it. It just takes me so long to get it all sorted. I think a wallet of some kind for the coupons would help though 🙂

  4. This is one of the best blogs I have come across, I think I could spend all day on here and other similar bloggers. Being a single parent to twins is EXPENSIVE! and I am always trying to find ways to save and cut back on things; which has influenced me in trying to live a more minimalistic lifestyle. Thank you for your posts 🙂 #ThriftyThursday
