I have recently been made aware of something that has changed the whole way that I conduct my beauty routine. I use to buy all sorts of potions and lotions but I always found that I would use them for a while and then forget about them. I’d buy more products and do the same with them until I had a entire draw filled with half used beauty products.
I blame it on good advertising making me want to buy the latest product that will make my skin glow like that of a newborn baby! It has only taken me 30 years to realise that is is all a load of nonsense, better late than never I suppose.
All these creams do is clog up your pores, cost you a lot of money and most of the time don’t make a blind bit of difference to the condition of your skin. I have found an alternative in the form of Dry Brushing. If you haven’t heard of it before it is basically the act of brushing your skin in a circular motion with a bristle brush.
Not convinced? Here is a list of just some of the benefits of dry brushing…
Health Benefits of Dry Brushing
Exfoliates your skin
Getting rid of any dead skin cells which helps to give your skin a nice glow to it.
Stimulates your lymphatic system
This is the system responsible for eliminating cellular waste products in your body.
Invigorating
Makes your skin tingle which is an amazing sensation in the morning making you feel ready for the day. It can become quite addictive. I don’t feel quite right in the morning now if I forget to do it.
Cleans Pores
Dry brushing helps to clear dirt and oil out of your pores without the need for harsh skin products.
Reduces Cellulite
Apparently it helps by breaking down the toxins in your skin.
Increases Circulation
Brushing your skin increases your circulation which helps with the elimination of metabolic waste
Stress Relief
It has been recorded that the act of dry brushing is very therapeutic
Better for the Environment
Not only is dry brushing good for your skin it’s also good for the environment as you aren’t creating plastic waste every month from empty product bottles.
It’s Cheap!
Obviously, the best benefit for fellow thrifty minded people is that it’s cheap because all you need is one good brush and that’s it! No more topping up on a variety of different products every month.
Still not convinced? Give it a go, I’d say it’s worth the £10 or so you’d spend on the brush to see if it works for you. I personally bought my body brush at a body shop party although I now stock them on my Gypsy Soul store.
I find it really easy to use although I may also invest in a long handled one too to get those hard to reach areas of your back.

Sounds aninteresting idea, ironically I have just started cleansing and moisturizing, having been too lazy for far too many years!!
It’s certainly worth trying dry brushing Vicky. I love it!
