This year I have signed up for Zero Waste Week as an ambassador.

Zero Waste Week is an opportunity to reduce landfill waste & save money. In its seventh year, the week runs 1st – 7th September 2014. The theme is “One More Thing” – what one more thing could YOU do?’

My Pledge

I have pledged to reduce our food waste. We’re already pretty good at using up food and not wasting it but I believe that there is always room for improvement.

Zero Waste Week  So if you have any great tips for reducing food waste I’d love to hear them. I have started my own Reduce Food Waste board on Pinterest for inspiration.

If you would like to join in with Zero Waste Week visit the website and sign up, it’s FREE to join and the more the merrier.

Update: I have been involved now for 3 years. Each year there is a different theme and I find it really helps you to stop and think about what you are throwing away.

Read: Zero Waste Week 2015 – the theme was Reuse. My pledge was to make the switch from disposable items to reusables.

Read: Zero Waste Week 2016 – the theme was Use it UP. My pledge was to have an empty food waste bin at the end of the week.

  1. Thanks so much for sharing zero waste week with your readers and encouraging them to sign up. I’ve got back into bad habits with food waste over the past few months due to an increasing workload, so I’m right behind you with this pledge!
