Over the last few weeks my social media timelines have exploded with opinions about the 5p charge for carrier bags. There have been reports of people stealing baskets and in some cases even trollies. I’m personally for the charge as plastic bags have a huge impact on the environment and I’m amazed that it has taken this long for a charge to be enforced. However having said that it is a pain to have to remember your bags every time you go shopping!

Once the new law had been enforced I started searching the web for some new reusable bags and that is when I came across Trolley Bags.

How Do They Work?

Whilst you are filling your trolley with your shopping the bags can hang on the back, unless of course you are using a scan as you shop system in which case they can go straight into the trolley.

Trolley Bags are a system of four bags that fit over the top of your trolley so you can easily pack your items straight into them.

The bags are held together by velcro which you can simply pull apart to get them into your car.

I have a tiny boot as my car is a mini and I managed to get 3 full bags into the boot, the fourth I just put in the footwell in the front.

They Trolley Bags are especially good for shopping at Tesco if you use their scan as you shop system or if like us you shop at Lidl or Aldi where you have to get your items into the trolley quickly at the till. This is a major plus for us as we normally shove everything into the trolley and then go to the bar at the end to re-pack all our items which drives me nuts. Now that we use the Trolley Bags we can simply put all of the products straight into the bags and leave which is great!

I have used my bags several times since I got them and every time without fail someone has stopped me to comment on them asking me where I got them from. I swear I could be a rep for them standing outside a  supermarket and I’d make a fortune. (I’m not by the way, just so you know).
