We were recently invited along to our local Beefeater to sample what they had to offer for Valentine’s Day. We’ve never been to a Beefeater for Valentine’s before so we were intrigued to see what they had to offer. But, before we get started, if you are looking for a complete Valentine’s Day gift guide, you can check on here and explore various unique gift options.
Starters
As we both hadn’t eaten all day we were really hungry and decided to go for 3 courses. To start with I had the Garlic King Prawns which were really nicely presented and tasted lovely. They cost £5.99.
The other half had the Beef Koftas which again was nicely presented. They cost £5.79 and are a new item on the menu.
If you fancy being really romantic you could order the Beefeater Sharing Platter which consists of Spicy piri piri chicken wings, slices of breaded crispy flat cap mushrooms, beef koftas, chilli & lime potato dippers and freshly grilled chimichurri flatbread. Accompanied by ranch, blue cheese and smoky BBQ sauce dips. This costs £9.99.
Drinks
We both opted for a soft drink option as we slightly over indulged over the Christmas period and we are trying to be good. We both had the Fentimans Cloudy Lemonade which tastes fantastic. We used to serve it in our pub and it was always very popular.
As well as the lemonade we were also offered some cold water and lemon which was a nice touch.
If we had wanted to be more romantic we would have ordered a bottle of Prosecco to share or even splashed out on some Champagne.
Main Course
For my main I oted for the Double Bacon and Cheese Steak Burger complete with spicy fries and coleslaw. It cost £11.99 and was very tasty! It was very big though and I couldn’t manage all of it.
The other half had the 10oz Rib-Eye Steak with peppercorn sauce. It cost 17.99. What is it with men and associating Valentines with steak? I just don’t get it. It must go back to some sort of primeval instinct of bringing back meat after a hunt. I love you and to prove it I have bought you a slab of meat!
His steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender.
Both of our meals came with refillable chips which is perfect for anyone with a bigger appetite.
Pudding
For pudding I had the Raspberry Bakewell which was very light and fluffy and was full of flavour. It cost £5.49.
He had the Rocky Road Sundae which cost £4.99.
Valentine’s Day Offer
Beefeater have got a fantastic offer on this Valentine’s Day; Say it with Steak this Valentine’s Day. 3 courses for £19.99 which personally I think is a fab deal. This menu has lots of lovely food to choose from including prawns, pate, steak, burger, fish & chips and a selection of puddings.
Overall Impression
- The food was very well presented and tasty.
- The staff were polite and attentive.
- The new decor and layout is very contemporary and fresh.
- They have a great deal for Valentine’s day.
If you are looking for good food in a nice atmosphere and also value for money then I would recommend your local Beefeater for your Valentine’s dinner this year.
Our local Beefeater is the Grandstand in Newton Abbot which is where we ate for this meal.
