December is always a time of year when I put my ‘thrifty head’ on. I find if you’re not careful the costs can easily spiral out of control. There is so much temptation out there to just buy that or maybe just add that in!

Every Christmas I keep my eye out for thrifty tips and tricks to help keep the cost down.

DIY Christmas Decorations

Saltrock recently created an article which includes tips on how to make your own Christmas decorations using items found in nature. You’ll find tutorials on how to make pinecone garlands, pinecone wreath making (including a handy video) and making candles out of shells.

There are also crafts like glitter string baubles, leaf fairy lights and pallet Christmas trees. The tutorials would be great for keeping the kiddies entertained during the holidays too.

I’m particularly interested in the Coastal Driftwood Tree tutorial, I think that would look great in our house! Personally, I love the fact that you can make eye-catching Christmas decorations for free.

If you are interested in creating your own thrifty DIY Christmas decorations then I’d definitely check out their article.

Who are Saltrock?

I’m not sure if you are aware of Saltrock but they are a British online store selling great value surf and outdoor wear. Personally I love their clothes and they’re great for when we are on the boat. Check out our review from last year.
