How To Make A Thrifty Bird Feeder

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my terms & conditions for more info.

I recently went to the shops to buy a bird feeder for the garden and I was shocked by how much it was going to cost me in total to buy the feeder itself and then the seeds to go in it.

It wasn’t an essential item for the home so I decided against it and I went home in search of a homemade alternative and this is what I came up with…

This has to be the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to make a bird feeder for the garden ever. In fact it is so easy that there are only three steps to it.

  1. Cut a hole in the front

2. Put in the seeds

3. Tie string around the handle

You might want to stick some holes in the bottom as well so the rainwater can drain out, otherwise your seeds will start to sprout like mine did! Opps

If you have any thrifty tips of your own I’d love to hear them and also keep an eye out for my new linky coming soon called ‘Thrifty Thursday’.
